Pitches and ideas
That’s me on the right, chatting to Glen Scotia’s Master Distiller Iain McAlister for a magazine feature.
Making magazines, writing features and creating content is what I love doing. I have decades of experience writing and editing across a range of channels to help ambitious brands, companies and charities raise awareness, drive sales, retain customers and cement (or change!) brand perception.
From magazines and brochures to digital solutions, I carefully craft powerful editorial products that cut through the noise, build trust and engage audiences. I have edited magazines for big brands such as Hyundai, Jaguar and The British Army, but am just as used to working with small teams and to tight deadlines and budgets.
That means I get stuck in! I am equally as happy subbing copy on page in Indesign as I am coming up with feature ideas for a next issue. And I am equally at home working with existing editorial teams or calling on a wide range of trusted freelancers – from writers and photographers to sub-editors and designers – to build something from the ground up.
I have also launched several independent magazines of my own, created on a shoestring but with very high production values (have a look at Esses and The Angels’ Share in the work section).
As well as the titles I’ve highlighted, I’ve also worked for clients as diverse as Citroen, Samsung, Nissan, Renault, London2012, HM Prison Service, Sky, Waitrose, The America’s Cup, Rough Guide books and much more besides.
If you’re looking for help with a project, no matter the size, I’d love to chat about it.
